This recipe was one of my favorites growing up. It came from my mother's Betty Crocker Cookbook.
Mix thoroughly: 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground pork 1/2 cup minced onion 3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1-1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 egg 1/2 cup milk
Shape into balls the size of a walnut.
Brown in: 1/4 cup hot cooking oil Remove meat and stir into oil: 1/4 cup flour 1 tsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper
Stir in: 2 cups boiling water 3/4 cup sweet or cultured sour cream
Return meat to gravy; cook 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
